Scope

All IUSM students and faculty members.


Policy Statement

Students should not have any mandatory curricular requirements during connections days.


Reason for Policy

Connection Days are designed to promote wellness and provide time for self-care. This policy, in concert with the Calendar and Scheduling Policy, prohibits formal educational activities on connection days, including evaluation of learners, onboarding, and credentialing.


Approval

Approved by the Curriculum Council Steering Committee on 12/19/2016.


Procedures

Connections Days are approved as a part of the academic calendar. Failure to honor this policy should be reported to the Phase 2 assistant dean.


Definitions

Curricular requirements include all formal educational activities, including evaluation of learners, onboarding, and credentialing.
