Basic Life Support Requirements
All Indiana University School of Medicine students are expected to complete, maintain and be able to provide proof of current certification in CPR- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
On April 1, 2017, all medical students, residents and fellows are required to maintain AHA BLS and any additional advanced life support certifications as mandated by their program and outlined in the policies Appendix A.
The Center for Physician Education has a detailed webpage, which includes photos of appropriate certifications.
- All students must be certified no later than 3/31/17.
- BLS certification must be completed at an AHA Approved Training facility.(Find a facility or course)
- IU Health is providing AHA approved BLS training at no expense to students.
