We have developed a new curriculum that will commence in the Fall of 2016
Based on four tenents:
- Holistic approach toward teaching and assessing the six IUSM competencies throughout all years (Professionalism, Medical Knowledge, Patient Care, Interpersonal Skills and Communication, Problem-Based Learning and Improvement, and System-Based Practice).
- More robust integration of clinical experience and basic sciences, including behavioral sciences, across all disciplines and throughout all four years of the students’ education, beginning early in the first year.
- Promotion of educational activities that foster self-directed learning and growth.
- Development of inter-professional (among physicians and other members of the health care team) learning experiences.
